Accessories for the hair is every in SL, some created for general hair and some specifically for certain hair. But good quality hair accessories that had me in awe is rare and when I found them I feel so sad that I just don’t have the linden for them. At this moment I have 2 favourite jewelry designers, both as creative and the products as awesome. Somehow some designs may not work in RL but in SL, it is limited only to your imagination and these 2 went beyond that.
Eolande Elvehjem
I have been hunting for good hair pins. I wasn’t sure there was any but true enough I found many types at Eolande’s, the owner is Eolande Elvehjem, a shop that kinda specialise on hair accessory, not unlike those you see in Lord Of The Rings. First and foremost the shop is beautifully designed and arranged very well. But then I am not concerned about the layout, I am concerned about the goods. The price range can be from L$50 onwards, not entirely unaffordable but the really good ones, those tiaras will cost you as much as a dress. Join the update group and you will get a flower for free.
I love it. It is made with attention to detail and like the notices in the shop says, you can adjust the position of the flower and even copy them into separate folders with your favourite hair. In fact this has got to be one of those few shops with really friendly notices that reminds you of what you can do and not what you must do like most insufferable notices.
There are lucky chairs as well so make sure you sit on one when the first alphabet to your name is on display. I can say that I have received 3 jewelery sets, each worth around I think L$75 by doing this and they’re wonderful. I am not going to show you since this is about hair accessories.
There are demos everywhere so choose wisely. Problem is I had such a hard time choosing until I tried a demo Longevity Jade Hair Pin and I was to say the least lost in the beauty of that hair pin. Since most of my hair is tied up this Jade Hair Pin is perfect. There are copper, silver, gold, etc but since chinese value jade above all else and it was well made, in the end I decided to part with my hard earned L$75 and bought a jade hairpin. I was thrilled but my only complain is whenever I put on my hairpin, my eyelashes is gone. Since both goes at the same position, I think I will have to reposition the hairpin but my avatar’s face is basically full already!
However it is a great buy and one of my favourite item in my long list of items.
The best way to describe her designs is down to earth. Her designs are nothing over the top, not overly indulgent and is suitable for those days when you want your avatar to be accessorised like you yourself normally would.
Shop Products
Mostly hair accessories, from pins to clips to flowers to tiaras to all these in sets with a wide variety of colours, sizes and such but unfortunately since the mega pack is expensive, buying individually would mean exercising your freedom of choice which is the hardest. Also has hair accessories created especially for certain branded hairs. Also some set jewelery that is worth a peek.

This is a name I shall remember for a very long time. Who can forget a name like that? But what is more amazing is her jewelery products. She is a tad different from Eolande in the sense her products are more extravagant, more oppulant and yes therefore more expensive. The attention to details is amazing and if you look in her shop attentively, you will find lucky chairs (have yet to find them) and products that are either freebies or under L$10 and they’re simple, elegant and simply beautiful. But my search was for more hair accessories and I wanted a tiara or rather like those in Lord Of The Rings, wear on the forehead. And I found one that is within my means $L100. I had to choose between white pearl of black pearl but I like the colour and highlight on the black pearl design and so I bought that and didn’t feel regret over the indulgent splurge because the effect made my avatar even more stunning.
Gorgeous eh? But this was first attached to the chin and that is a big no no because I can’t let my avatar walk around withut face light. So I repositioned it to the mouth. Looks great eh?
And then I walked further and found the following that made my jaw drop.
That Tang Dynasty hairpin is exactly what I have been looking for! Oh my god I went, checked the price and it was if I remember correctly L$200 or so and again I felt this immense frustration that I can’t afford it!! But it was beautiful and if her previous products are of any indication, the details will be awesome. Some other creator has designed a Tang Dynasty gown to go with it but I needn’t look because somehow my gut feeling told me I will be disappointed again so I’d rather just imagine. That is definitely on my wishlist.
She replicates pageant tiaras too and they’re awesome looking. You can visit her blog to see some examples. I am not particular about tiaras but that forehead tiara is now my favourite item. I hope to buy more but after I get my Tang Dynasty accessories first.
I have many more of her products, those that I bought when discounted but this is about hair accessories so maybe in my next article.
The only flaw to her products is they can’t be copied which can be a hassle when sometimes I want to change positions for some pins or such for different hairstyles and I have to do it manually each time. Maybe it was just that one product. Anyway highly recommended to go and have a look at her shop (and she does have free or L$1 – L$10 sets as well as lucky chairs and 50% discounts for members) if you are those into extravagent jewelery that is both highly detailed and very expensive looking although looks probable in real life. Hers can be the Cartier of SL whilst Eolande’s, not that far away can be the Tiffany’s of SL. You know what I mean.
Shop Products
Mostly jewelery that comes in sets and best place for tiaras, necklaces, earrings and rings for that grand ball you have to attend. Problem will then be finding a dress as extravagent as her jewelery. Some hair accessories but not much.

Go and have a look and be amazed at what these artistes can do. How did they do it I often wondered but in the end I just give up wondering how they did it and just bask in the awesomeness of them all.
