House Of Zen – the concept of customer service

To tell you the truth, I am a greedy person. I am one of those who buys freebies again and again, the same ones I mean, but that is because I never quite realised I already had it. But there are times I know when to draw the line. If there’s no one else, I will always sit repeatedly at the chairs. But when there’s someone staring at me, frankly my max is 2 sits the most, more so if I was in the middle of my 2nd sit. But I was sitting there 1st time and someone staring at me, once is my max.

This morning I went to House Of Zen to perhaps get another freebie, something along the Hanfu type since I really liked the one I won by camping for 45 minutes some time ago. You can see that dress in my Everwind trip part 1. But to my surprise the owner shifted the lucky chairs (1 for women clothings, 1 for men’s clothings) and changed the items. This time it was modern day gowns. I saw someone occupied it, and it was about 5 minutes left so I waited. When the woman stood up, I took my chance to browse through the catalog but lo and behold, she sat down again. So I thought maybe later I try again. Later, which was 10 minutes ago, I went there and again someone was there with 1 minute. left. I was happy of course and I quite like the dress she chose. When she stood up, I quickly looked through the catalog but could hardly have decided which one when lo and behold she sat down again, on a black gown that I quite like. I was angry so I wrote a complaint to the owner, Zen Deledda and she calmly apologised, very politely in fact and then quite calmly asked me which was the gown I liked and I confessed I didn’t have a chance to look but thought if that woman stands up I will sit for that gown she is now sitting for (50 minutes or so by the way). And to my utter surprise, she sent me a folder with that dress.

Her dress could easily each be priced at L$100 or over and I was frankly very shocked. I told her so and well in a very zen like way, she accepted my thanks.

Now that is what I call customer service, even if it is a freebies.

Now if you have the time and luck, try the lucky chairs for this week. The gown I got is lovely and originally priced quite expensive for me anything beyond L$100 is expensive, more so L$300 for a satin robe) and I hope you get a chance to sit on the chairs.  There may be other types, like perhaps kimonos and hanfus. Right now I am waiting in ftont of that woman and if she sits for the 3rd time, I truly resign my ability to actually look through the catalog to 100% chance. Or I could just save some money and buy one. Which I may if I find that must have item…
