INTRODUCTION
It is true that if you’re not picky, you can find freebies everywhere in Second Life and even better, top quality freebies. That is if you’re not picky about the colour or sometimes the design. For me, I don’t have much Linden so I can’t be picky and yet after having some really awesome dresses of the highest quality, I was searching for expensive stuff at an affordable price. And I found one.
Bossa Nova is a shop on an island next to the beach which boasts a small but beautiful collection of designs from the old Hollywood era where I could imagine Audrey Hepburn donning one. Maybe more of 1930s to 1950s glamourous years. I think you can find men’s fashion there also, but really I wasn’t paying attention to men’s collection. Most of the time the items are priced at L$200-L$300 for each item which by itself is not that expensive. I have seen far more expensive prices on products that are bad quality to say the least. In this shop almost every item is a flexi skirt item so whenever your avatar walks, the skirts sways, in a very beautiful swaying motion. And the designs are tastefully done, hardly any sluttish looks. I have seen far too many of those in Second Life so Bossa Nova, being a high end product of reasonable price is a welcomed sight. Truth is I can’t afford the clothes. There is a free item in that shop that comes with 2 colours, black or white complete with a huge ribbon. Then there was the Christmas and New Year Hunt 2007. I went there immediately, being challenged to look for 15 free gifts all around the shop and the beach. It was great fun because the owner hid the freebies in the most hard to find places that would require some skills in navigating the camera aka mouse. But I found all but one, and a quick note to the Bossa Nova Group, I found a clue for the final one. All of the items are clothes in the colours of white, red, green and one, black and then 3 other freebies are hair (of the old Hollywood style) in white. One can’t be picky, moreover I love the clothes, save except for one which I did not include in here. Later I found out there are discounted items at the price of L$50 each and whilst almost all items are this price but it is limited to one colour only, so I bought 2. The one in plum colour and the other with a big flower on the chest.
So here are my Bossa Nova collection, complete with other accessories from other fashion houses (I will write more on that in other posts) as modeled by my rather pretty and expressive avatar, Funn Jewell. I went to Realm Of Everwind for the photoshoot. This is strictly a fashion & trends post since it is what is in my wardrobe but looking at the gorgeous pictures, the main album is considered a photoshoot. By the way, I have my avatar standing still in a model post for the main picture, and then I had her dancing so that I could take her pictures whilst in motion to show to you why I love Bossa Nova’s flexi skirts. They’re indeed very flexy, and detailed as well with a layer of lace. Almost a shame that the lace is covered. I selected only one main pose with 3 poses in motion to display. I hope you enjoyed them.
